   The ‘Awesome’ Arcadia Parent Advisory Council met November 5, 2009.  Everyone present introduced themselves and spoke about their child attending Arcadia.  We discussed the Student profile form that was created last year, and suggestions were made about some small changes for next year.
   Open House was discussed and the parents involved liked having the 3rd grade ‘Open House’ or ‘Back to School Time’ at a different time from the 4th & 5th grade. 
   Mrs. Lyla Rapleje, Director of the Arcadia Stepping Stone After school Program, summarized the program and told of their 2009-2010 goals.  She spoke to the parent nights and the fun and positive relationships that the Whitworth Students have had with the Arcadia students.  This program has 100 students on Monday & Friday for enrichment and on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday’s, there are over 70 kids receiving strategic assistance.  The program is in its 2nd year of a 6-year program. 
    The dates were set for the upcoming 3 meetings: 

Thursday, January 14, 2010 5:00 – 6:00 with Stepping Stone providing child care

Tuesday, March 16, 2010, 12:00 – 1:00 for a luncheon meeting

Thursday, May 20, 2010, 5:00 – 6:00 with Stepping Stone providing child care

Each P.A.C. member will receive notification and/or be phoned the day before these meetings.
Questions that parents can ask teachers during parent teacher conferences will be sent home by Stepping Stones on the other side of the flyers and Parent communication will be discussed at the January meeting.
  

No other business came before the group, and our next meeting is in January 2010, with the meeting ending at 1:12 p.m.
