Deer Park Elementary

Kindergarten Registration: Kindergarten students can be registered any day after 8/16 during school office hours. Children must be 5 years old on or before August 31, 2005. Please bring a birth certificate to verify birthdate for registration. Immunizations must be current before your child can start school. Immunizations are required after the child's 4th birthday. Please bring immunization records to registration. For information, contact Deer Park Elementary at 464-5600.

Kindergarten Orientation: Friday, August 26, 2005. Postcards will be sent to parents with their time to meet the teacher and pick up the bus schedule. The kindergarten program runs all day, everyday from 8:20 to 2:55 p.m.

Back to School Night & Picnic: First and second grade parents are invited to attend the Back to School Night and Picnic on September 20 at 5:30. Teachers will review the curriculum for the upcoming school year. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Preschool Supplies:

Backpack, extra set of clothes -1 size too big (will be returned at the end of the year), 6 glue sticks, 1 box tissues, 1 package of stickers, 1 box of ziploc bags - any size, 1 bottle of glue, 2 boxes of baby wipes - 3 if your child is in diapers, diapers - if your child wears them.

Kindergarten Supplies:

Regular sized backpack with name on the outside so it is easy to read, 4 large glue sticks, 1 box crayons (16 count), 1 plastic pencil box, 1 pair of Fiskars scissors, 1 lg. box of Kleenex, 1 box large & sandwich size Ziploc bags, 1 color book for rainy days, 1 box of snack crackers to share. Markers and colored pencils are optional.

1st Grade Supplies:

1 large backpack, plastic school box (not larger than 5"x8"), 2 boxes crayons (24 count)*, 1 box Crayola Thin Markers*, scissors (Fiskars blunt end), 4 large glue sticks (1 oz. or larger)*, 4 Pink Pet erasers*, 1 spiral notebook (70 pg.), coloring book for rainy days, 2 large boxes Kleenex*, Ziploc baggies (1 box quart AND 1 box gallon size). *These supplies will need to be replenished throughout the year.

Multi-Age Supplies:

1 large backpack, #2 yellow pencils (10)*, plastic school box (no larger than 5"x8" with child's name on it), crayons (box of 24)*, scissors (Fiskars blunt end), 1 large glue stick*, colored pencils*, colored markers*, Pink Pearl eraser*, 1 pocket folder with child's name*, coloring book for rainy days, 1 large box Kleenex*, 1 box Ziplock baggies (gallon size), 1 Elmer's glue (4 oz.). *These supplies will need to be replenished throughout the year.

2nd Grade Supplies:

1 large backpack, #2 yellow pencils (15)*, plastic school box (not larger than 5"x8" - with child's name on it), crayons (box of 24)*, scissors (Fiskars blunt end), 4 large glue sticks (1 oz. or larger)*, 2 Pee Chee type folders, 1 spiral notebook (70 pg.), colored pencils*, coloring book and/or spiral notebook for rainy days, 1 large box Kleenex*, Ziploc baggies (1 box gallon size AND 1 box quart size). *These supplies will need to be replenished throughout the year. Many of these supplies will be shared by the class.

 

Arcadia Elementary

The office will be open beginning August 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. New students registering must bring proof of immunization. Students coming from Deer Park Elementary need not register.

3rd Grade Supplies:

4 erasers, 1 pencil pouch (not plastic), crayons (box of 24), scissors (Fiskars are best), 1 white Elmer's glue (8 oz.), wide ruled notebook paper (3 pkgs.), 24 #2 pencils (sharpened & labeled), 2 boxes Kleenex, colored pencils (sharpened and labeled), 1.5"-2" 3-ring binder, 1 Pee-Chee type folder, 1 spiral notebook, 4 glue sticks. Proper gym shoes for PE. Please label all items.

4th Grade Supplies:

1.5" -2" 3-ring binder, #2 pencils (2 dozen), eraser, hand-held pencil sharpener w/lid, 3 spiral notebooks, 4 pkgs. notebook paper (wide ruled), 12-24 colored pencils and crayons, 2 big boxes tissue, 1 bottle gel glue, 1 large glue stick, scissors (Fiskars are best), ruler (with metric and standard markings), red pen or pencil, black flair pen. Proper gym shoes for PE. Please label all items.

5th Grade Supplies

3-ring binder, 3-ring notebook paper (5 pkgs.), #2 pencils and erasers, 1 box tissue, 2 red pencils, scissors, pencil pouch, colored pencils (24 ct.), crayons (optional), felt tip markers (fine tip), ruler, tape, 2 glue sticks. Proper gym shoes for PE. Please label all items. (PTCA will provide dividers for all students.)

 

Deer Park Middle School

Registration Dates:

All students must register prior to school starting. Parents must attend registration for all students who are new to Deer Park Middle School (including 6th graders and students from Loon Lake).

Sixth graders will be required to provide proof of a second MMR shot. Students will not be able to register if they have not had a second MMR shot.

(Registration times are 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.)

Wednesday, 8/24 - Sixth grade

Thursday, 8/25 - Seventh grade

Friday, 8/26 - Eighth grade

EVENING REGISTRATION: Thursday, 8/25 - All grades (4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.)

 

Free Sports Physicals are available at DPMS for 7th and 8th grade students who anticipate turning out for athletics/sports during this school year. Free physicals are scheduled for:

8/15 and 8/22 - Boys - 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

8/17 and 8/24 - Girls - 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

6th Grade supplies:

3-ring binder (2 inch) with 5 dividers, 4 separate spiral notebooks, Kleenex, notebook paper, calculator, glue sticks, markers/colored pencils, eraser, pencils, pens, red ink pen, highlighters (pink, yellow, green and blue), 2 binders (3-ring - 1.5") with 5 dividers.

7th Grade supplies:

3-ring binder (2 inch) with 5 dividers, binder (1 inch) with 10 dividers (for math - only for new students), sturdy pencil pouch, notebook paper, scientific calculator, Kleenex (1 box to 1st period teacher), scissors, markers, erasers, pencils, pens (blue or black), red ink pen, 2 highlighters, glue sticks, ruler, colored pencils (pkg. of 8), . Mrs. Vrablick's class will also need: small Post-It notes (1 pack), 5-subject spiral notebook. Mrs. Liddell's math class will also need: white erase board marker, 1-subject spiral notebook. Mrs. Ashford's class will also need: folder with pockets, 1 gallon Ziploc

8th grade supplies:

Deer Park High School

High School registration will be held on August 24 and August 25 (8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.). On this day you will accomplish the following:

• ASB and ID picture taken

• Buy your ASB card - $25.00 (Reduced fee available to those who qualify)

• Locker assignment given

If you are unable to attend on registration day, we will have a make-up day for pictures after school starts. You may also pay for your ASB card after school begins.

Please understand that this day is not a day to make schedule changes. Preferential changes will be done on a space-available basis the first 10 days of school.

8/29 - ASB Welcome Back BBQ at 5:00 p.m.

8/29 - Freshman Orientation from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

 

Free Sports Physicals: All physicals will take place at Deer Park Middle School. These physicals will be valid for 2 years.

Dress Code: The dress code was written by staff, parents and students on the Deer Park Site Council. Students are to observe modesty, appropriateness and neatness in clothing and personal appearance.

• clothing must be clean

• shoes must be worn at all times - no slippers

• no bare midriffs or bare backs

• no transparent/see-through, strapless, spaghetti strapped tops, low cut clothing with slits or outfits that provide minimum coverage. This includes, but is not limited to, tank tops and muscle shirts.

• Shorts, skirts, dresses must meet or exceed length of fingertips when arms are placed at the side

• clothing that advertises drugs, alcohol, tobacco products, gang affiliation or items that are obscene or suggestive in nature are unacceptable.

• dress of any manner that may cause disruption to the educational process or become a safety issue is unacceptable (i.e., chains, spiked accessories, etc.)

• no sunglasses while in school

• outside clothing (i.e., jackets, etc.) is not to be worn during class time. Jackets should remain in your locker. Sweatshirts and sweaters are acceptable.
