Guidelines For A Kind and Caring School Environment |
Deer Park Elementary School staff would like to create an environment where respect and learning prevail. We also want each child to be accountable for his/her behavior and learning while in school. Our children work on four school guidelines while at school: - Guideline One: Be Responsible
All through your life you must decide how you will act. Therefore, we expect you to do what is right whether anyone is watching you or not. This is called "being responsible". It is important for you to remember that you are in charge of yourself and are responsible for your own actions even if someone around you is making a bad choice. You can do what is right! - Guideline Two: Work and play safely
When you come to our school everyone must know that Deer Park Elementary School is a safe place to be. Any behavior in class or on the playground that could hurt anyone, adult or child, will not be allowed. This includes both physical (with hands/feet) and verbal (words). - Guideline Three: Show respect for yourself, others and property
When you show respect you show you care. Respecting includes being polite, accepting differences between people, helping and encouraging others, taking care of personal property, and taking care of the school's equipment and materials. Behaving or not disrupting class time is a way of respecting other's learning time. Taking care of your own coat, backpack and school property is a way to show respect. - Guideline Four: Come ready to learn
In order to come to school ready to learn you must come with a good attitude and be ready and willing to do your very best on every job or assignment. Some of the ways we can come to school ready to learn are to get plenty of sleep, eat nutritional food (breakfast) and realize school is a positive place for you to be. It is important to remember we all make mistakes, but we can learn from our mistakes. |
