Principal's Message

Welcome to Deer Park Middle School!

On behalf of the administration and staff, welcome to the 2010-2011 school year at Deer Park Middle School! This is my twelfth year as principal of Deer Park Middle School and I am looking with great anticipation at the year ahead. We have caring, dedicated staff members who are committed to ensuring that students are successful as they transition through what are typically years of great change intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically for our students. One of my primary goals is to work with our Deer Park learning community as we continue on a path of strengthening inter-locking relationships among school, family and community. In so doing, we will provide students a quality education as we set high expectations and the means to meet those goals. It is my pleasure to extend an invitation to all parents and the Deer Park community to join in and become active participants in the education of all our students. I am very excited about the work we can do together to raise the achievement level of our students.

As we begin the new school year, remember that our successes are built on commitment and dedication to academic excellence. We are committed to providing our students a positive and safe learning environment and a school that demonstrates respect and pride. Our goal is promote dignity and respect where all stakeholders realize that they are an integral part of the education process. Of our students, we expect them to be responsible, show pride, and be respectful of each others’ differences.

Working together as a team of administrators, staff, students and parents, we can provide a caring and nurturing environment conducive to learning. Our goal is to provide a curriculum that is standards based, rigorous, challenging and engaging for all of our students.

We look forward to a wonderful year, meeting and working with you as partners in preparing our students as life-long learners. We value learning and our work is always centered on “what is best for kids.”

On behalf of Deer Park Middle School, we wish you and your child a most productive and enriching year. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at 464-5807 or seedalb@dpsd.org.
