The 6th Annual “We Heart Deer Park” community gathering will be held on Monday, August 28th, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Arcadia Elementary. The “We Heart Deer Park” event is sponsored and hosted by several churches in the Deer Park community as a fun way to kick-off the school year and provide a great back-to-school experience for Deer Park’s K-5 students and their families! As in the past, there will be a fun carnival-like atmosphere, complete with an obstacle course, a fun inflatable slide as well as distribution of school supplies and food, free haircuts, immunizations and sports physicals, opportunities to connect with numerous community service organizations, and thanks to DPSD Food Service Director Karla Hartt and Sodexo USA, there will once again be a free hot dog for all who attend!
If you’re interested in sharing your time or would like to contribute to the event (sponsor a backpack full of school supplies for a student, assist with equipment rental, or host an information booth), head on over to the We Hear Deer Park event webpage for more information – WE HEART DEER PARK.
In conjunction with the outdoor events, students and their families will have an opportunity to connect with their teacher and tour the school buildings. Deer Park School District continues to be grateful for the involvement and generous contributions of our local churches as we partner with them to welcome children back for the 2017-18 school year.
