Voters in the Deer Park School District will be asked to consider approval of the Educational Programs and Operations Levy measure on February 10, 2015.
The three-year levy replaces the district’s expiring levy, approved by voters in 2012. The Educational Programs and Operations Levy is not a new tax and will not raise the tax rate. When state matching funds are included, approximately 16% of the school district’s annual budget comes from a voter-approved levy (districts that do not pass a local levy do not qualify for state funds provided via levy equalization). The levy sustains essential educational programs and activities not funded by state and federal dollars.
