Deer Park High School is proud to present Defying Gravity. This play by Jane Anderson has as its central backdrop the Space Shuttle Challenger accident of 1986. On its surface, the play tells this story through fictional characters, such as tourists waiting to see the launch and a mechanic who worked on the shuttle. Yet, at its core, the play is about man’s quest to do the impossible, to see things from different perspectives and to continue on in the face of tragedy.
The play runs about one hour twenty minutes. While it is largely a drama, it has moments of humor and its message of hope and inspiration shine through. The students involved have done a tremendous job and would love your support.
Defying Gravity runs November 13, 14 & 15; curtain time is 7 pm. Cost is $4 for students and $6 for adults.
Thank you for supporting the Arts and your local schools!
