Deer Park School District invites you to partner with the local Rotary* chapter as they finish the new playground at Mix Park! The work day will be begin at 10:30am on Saturday, Oct. 10th. Families and people of all ages are encouraged to attend as there will be tasks for everyone – young and old. After a busy day expanding the children’s play area on September 26th (including anchoring new swings and benches), the play area is almost ready – the play area should be useable after just a couple hours of work! At the conclusion of the event, Rotarians will be hosting a Barbecue while children enjoy the new playground and equipment.
What a perfect opportunity to join with other community members to take pride in our local park and serve one another by adding to this great public space. Deer Park School District is excited to partner with the Deer Park Rotary in this fun community service event and encourage you to come and join the fun and take part in what should be a great day!
* What is Deer Park Rotary? The mission of Rotary International is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business,
professional, and community leaders.
Rotarians use “The Four-Way Test” as a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for members to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings:
Of the things we think, say or do:
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
