Deer Park Elementary is searching for a new principal! Deer Park School District’s Human Resources Dept. is now accepting applications from qualified applicants through April 15th (click HERE to begin the process). Presently, application screening is scheduled for April 18th and 19th and interviews will be scheduled for April 25th and/or April 26th.

Bonnie Remington, principal at Deer Park Elementary, will be taking on a new role in the district beginning in the 2016-17 school year; in addition to her new role in our schools, Mrs. Remington will also be working for ESD 101 to provide support and training to school districts throughout the North East Washington region. We are thrilled that Mrs. Remington will continue to serve our kids and community in this new capacity!

Deer Park Elementary offers a unique primary-only setting, serving over 400 young learners in grades K through 2. Staff at Deer Park Elementary have the opportunity to focus on the specific needs of early learners, developing critical foundational skills and assets necessary for academic success. DPE houses seven classrooms at each grade level and the PLC framework guides the weekly collaborative work of grade-level teams. DPE is a Title I building and utilizes a school-wide model to provide intervention support. The building has embarked on implementation of a MTSS model, aligning resources and support structures for students at all levels – all the while, emphasizing the use of data to drive decision making.

We’re looking for a motivated, highly collaborative leader, capable communicating and further developing the school’s vision and goals, managing and guiding analysis of school-wide assessment data, routinely connecting with with families and the community, and providing strong leadership for various building initiatives.
