Travis joined Deer Park Schools in 2005 and was hired as Superintendent in 2013. As District Superintendent, Travis is responsible for administration of the schools under applicable laws, the policies of the Board, and the authority vested in the position by the State of Washington. The Superintendent is hired by, and is directly responsible to, the district's Board of Directors. Travis provides leadership and supervision for school district administrators and works to ensure the best educational opportunities for all children. After 19 years as a teacher, building administrator (elementary and middle school), and HR administrator in the Bellevue School District, Alexa became Deer Park's Asst. Superintendent in 2021. Aside from working directly with the superintendent on strategic vision and execution of operational objectives, Alexa's primary duties include oversight of the district's Human Resources operations as well as providing leadership and support for all things related to Teaching and Learning. After extensive background in school in Washington and Minnesota, Suzanne came to Deer Park in 2021. In her work in Deer Park, Suzanne develops, plans, and implements program goals and objectives for the district’s Special Services department; perhaps her most important duty however, is focused on overseeing policies and procedures which ensure quality programs for the special education and at-risk students served in Deer Park Schools. Suzanne directs and supervises the district’s special education program staff, which includes special education teachers and support staff. Suzanne also serves as the coordinator for the school district’s Early Childhood Education program (ECEAP) and oversees nursing services. Having previously worked in school finance for ESD 101 and Freeman School District, Brendon joined Deer Park in 2021. Brendon's responsibilities include oversight of all the district's fiscal operations - this includes payroll, financial reports (state reporting), investments, tax collection, employee contracts, food service, transportation, purchasing of equipment and supplies and all other financial matters. The Dir. of Business Services also assists the Superintendent in the development and management of the district’s annual budget, oversees the activities related to budgetary revenues and expenditures, and supports the district's bargaining team with data and information necessary for negotiations with collective bargaining units.
