After a distinguished career in four different school districts spanning 40 years, and 4 successful years as the principal at Deer Park Elementary, Mr. Russ Lodge is ready to enjoy retirement – congratulations, Mr. Lodge!

Deer Park Elementary School offers a unique primary setting, serving over 470 young learners in grades K through 2. Staff at DPE have the opportunity to focus on the specific needs of early learners, developing the critical foundational skills and assets necessary for academic success. DPE has eight classrooms at each grade level and the PLC framework guides the weekly collaborative work of grade-level teams. Deer Park Elementary is a Title I building and utilizes a school-wide model to provide academic and behavioral interventions. The building uses a multi-tiered approach, aligning resources and support structures for students, placing high value on use of data to inform decision making. Deer Park Elementary is a great place to work and a great place for kids!

Deer Park School District is looking for a student-centered, highly collaborative, and skilled leader who knows how to have fun while working hard. The ideal candidate will be capable of effectively communicating (and further developing!) the school’s vision and goals, managing and guiding the analysis of school-wide assessment data, and routinely and actively engaging families in our community. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing strong instructional leadership and will offer encouragement and support to grade-level teams as they use the PLC framework to identify and close gaps in learning for every student we serve.

If you have questions about the position, please reach out to either District Superintendent, Travis Hanson, or Deer Park’s Director of Human Resources, Jill Christiansen at 464.5500.
