Deer Park School District is pleased to announce an administrative opening in our district office – Director of Special Services. The district’s Human Resources Dept. is now accepting applications from qualified applicants until March 22th (see a position summary in the .pdf below or CLICK HERE to initiate the application process). Application screening will be completed by Friday, March 26th, and finalist interviews will take place on Tuesday, March 30th.

Deer Park is looking for a student-centered, highly collaborative, and skilled leader who has the background and knowledge to effectively manage the district’s Special Education program, while also working to support and inform intervention services for every one of the children we serve. Deer Park has multiple schoolwide Title I buildings and continues the work of implementing MTSS structures to best serve the needs of ALL our kids. Most recently, special education and general education staff from around the district have engaged in an in-depth study of inclusionary practices, building a vision for special education services rooted in the fundamental belief that all children are competent and capable and have the right to access meaningful academic and social opportunities in general education settings.

In continuing this work and carrying out the day-to-day work of managing the district’s special services programs, the ideal candidate will work alongside administrators and teachers to best align resources and support structures, placing high value on building strong relationships and use of data to inform decision making.
