As you may have heard during Governor Inslee’s address to the state this afternoon, all schools in the state of Washington (public and private) will be closed from Tuesday, March 17 through Friday, April 24. These closures are subject to extension.

Please know that we understand this affects many families in significant ways. District leadership is working around the clock and throughout this weekend to develop plans to manage the impacts in the best way possible. As COVID-19 evolves, and as the intensity of public response increases, it affects all of us. We are all learning about this virus as details are released and we are working together to stop it’s spread. The disruptions that may occur in the short term will have a beneficial effect in the longer term – for everyone.

I will assuredly keep you updated with all relevant information and, while I recognize that many questions will occur, we are committed to addressing each of those to the best of our ability and resources amidst this rapidly developing situation. Please stay tuned throughout the weekend for communication about the days and weeks ahead.

Travis W. Hanson

Superintendent
