DPMS band wrapped up the year with a fantastic awards concert! 6th, 7th, and 8th grade concert and jazz bands filled the gymnasium with beautiful music. Special congratulations to those receiving awards voted on by peers!

Today our 7th graders engaged in the 4S project: Seventh grade Spike Spring Service Project. Thank you Spikes for a great day of community service! Seventh graders painted the sports complex, weeded/cleaned up the high school, painted the picnic tables, washed windows, planted flowers at City Hall, and painted the gym at the Clayton Fairgrounds! Many thanks DPMS seventh graders!



Congratulations to Liam Bogle and Alayna Demir! Liam and Alayna were Deer Park's NEA Scholar Athlete Award winners.




The DPHS Band and Choir traveled to Vancouver BC this weekend for a music festival and sightseeing.
Both groups earned a Gold rating which is the highest possible rating based on the set of standards used at festivals all across North America.
Robert Strickland, a Junior was one of 11 students selected for the Maestro Award. He was recognized among hundreds of students who participated in the festival.

Arcadia's 4th Grade Math Is Cool team takes 2nd Place at the Master's Competition! The MIC 4th and 5th graders competed in the Math Is Cool Masters against the top teams from Washington, Oregon and Idaho. 4th-grade student, Josh Cosner, took 4th place individual in our division and the 4th-graders as a team took 2nd place out of 14 teams in their division! We are so very proud of them!


Deer Park School District celebrates Kristin Moyles' completion of her Doctorate in Educational Leadership! Dr. Moyles has served Deer Park for 19 years
as a consulting teacher with Home Link and as District Coordinator for Highly Capable Programs. Her research focused on changing how we recognize and respond to grief and loss in a school community setting. She created professional development modules highlighting how improving grief literacy can create a culture of compassion and her trainings have already been requested at the regional and state levels. Congratulations Dr. Moyles!


Kason Dean, a 7th grader at DPMS, recently won the regional 509 Show Circuit Essay Contest with his submission, “Farming in Winter at Dean Acres.” As a member of Gettin’ Grit 4-H Club, he plans to use his prize money to invest in his market lamb, Ovejo. Congratulations Kason!
