First Day of School
Good first day of school eve DPMS families.  We were so thankful to be able to connect with the many of you who were able to make it to our Back to School night.  I know our schedule can be tough to follow at times, but students always figure it out quickly and are well taken care of on the first day!  :)  If you picked up a schedule with a locker number on it last night, then your child can use that tomorrow.  If they need a new schedule we will pass them out tomorrow morning with 8th graders in the gym, 7th graders in the cafeteria and 6th graders outside the west wing courtyard.  Skyward also has updated schedules available. Speaking of Skyward, if you need help getting connected to Skyward Family Access, please follow these directions.  If you need additional assistance, please call the office.  Skyward Access Directions Lunch tomorrow and this year will again be FREE @ DPMS.  However, students will need to know their lunch number (5 "digit key" # in upper right of printed schedule)...which is also their student ID and Google login without the zeros. If your child is a returning 7th or 8th grader please be sure to help them remember to bring their charged Chromebook and charger.   All 6th graders and new to DPMS students will get a Chromebook tomorrow or ASAP.   Chromebooks are a vital and important part of how we educate our middle schoolers.  Please remind your child that their Chromebook is a district device and should be carefully taken care of and charged each evening at home. This year, we will be keeping our parent drop-off and pick-up at the south, gym parking area, where students will enter the building through the gym doors.  Please enter at the most southern entrance, proceed clockwise and exit just to the north of that.  The front of the build will be reserved for visitors and still maintained for a few of our buses.  Please do NOT drop-off or pick-up your child in the front unless it is during school hours.  For students riding the BUS, they will be dropped off and picked-up in our new bus loop off C Street to the north.  It will be most efficient for students to enter the building closest to their lockers.  6th graders have their own entrance to the west, 7th graders in the middle entrance and 8th graders in the new east wing addition.  Please see the map attached for a visual.  DPMS Drop-Off Map 7th and 8th grade Football and Softball start practice tomorrow, Wednesday, from 3:00 - 5:00.  Cross Country for 6th - 8th grades practice starts Thursday, from 3:00 - 4:45. Thank you for your time, have a great night and here's to a great 2022-23 school year! Go Spikes! Tim Olietti Principal Deer Park Middle School Go Spikes!  IMUA!
