How does school funding work? It's a question we get a lot. Take a look at these graphics and let us know what other questions you have! You can also view our Citizen's Guide to the District Budget on our website: https://5il.co/1maci

Did you know that funding for our STEM classes partially comes from the EP&O levy? These classes teach students hands-on skills while preparing them for their future. Learn more about the February 2024 measures at https://www.dpsd.org/page/bond-levy-information

Our schools are our community. We are asking the community to consider a levy and bond in the February 2024 election that will continue funding for the day-to-day operations of our schools and address our facility needs and growing enrollment. All to ensure our students and staff have access to learning spaces that support their future growth.

Washington State Healthy Youth Survey - 2023
Parent and Student Information Letter English.pdf
Good evening DPMS families. Deer Park School District will be participating in the Washington State Healthy Youth Survey, Wednesday, October 18th, 2023. The survey will be given to students in Grades 6, 8, 10 and 12.
The Healthy Youth Survey includes questions related to physical activity and diet, unintentional and intentional injury, substance use, sexual behaviors, abuse, risk and protective factors, and access to school-based services. Survey results are used by schools, communities, and state agencies to plan programs to support our youth and reduce their risks.
Participation in the survey is voluntary and the students’ answers are anonymous. There are no codes or information used to match a survey to a student.
The Parent and Student Notification Letter is attached, available on the school website, as well as in the main office for more information about the Healthy Youth Survey.
Thank you and have a good evening.

First Day of School...Wednesday, August 30th
Happy first day of school eve Deer Park Middle School families. Tomorrow is the first day of school and the doors open to students at 8:06 and the school day ends at 3:00.
Parent drop-off and pick-up for all grades is on the south, gym entrance side of the building. Please do not use the front of the building for student drop-off unless it is after 8:20 due to bus traffic. Students riding the bus should use the entrance closest to their lockers, especially 6th graders who will enter through the doors of the west wing, closest to Colville Rd.
Some student schedules have been updated even since last night, so we encourage all students to pick up a new schedule in the morning or check Skyward for the most current one.
- 6th grader's schedules will be in the 6th grade wing hallway. 6th graders are to report to thier Flex teacher first thing in the morning for first period for further instructions!
- 7th grader's will be in the front foyer near the office.
- 8th grader's will be in the gym.
Breakfast and lunch at DPMS are free to all students with some great choices!
I am also including another link to our school handbook as well as FinalForms for all sports registration.
The staff and I at DPMS are excited to get the year started and make it a great one for your child. Please don't hesitate to contact any of us if you have a question or need anything.
Thank you, have a great night, and Go Spikes!

Back to School Night @ DPMS
Monday, August 28th, 2023
Good afternoon DPMS. I wanted to follow up on last night's email that had the wrong date. Open House/Back to School Night is MONDAY, AUGUST 28th from 4:10 - 5:20.
Please don't forget to bring in student medications and paperwork for medications and immunizations.
The first day of school is WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30th. I will send another robocall prior to the first day with details! However, I would remind everyone of our school dress code and that what is expected at school and in other more 'formal' environments is often different than typical summer or casual attire. We try to be reasonable and gentle when dealing with dress code issues and greatly appreciate the support and reinforcement of expectations at home. Please see page 11 of the DPMS HANDBOOK for details.
Enjoy the last weekend before school starts. So thankful to the firefighters and for the clean air the last few days.
Take care!

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
Monday, August 28th - 3:45 - 5:30
Good evening Deer Park Middle School families! I trust you made some good summer memories and want to welcome you to the 2023-24 school year. I am Tim Olietti, the Principal of DPMS and you will get occasional robo-phone calls from me throughout the school year with important and hopefully relevant information. In addition, I will follow most all calls up with an email and often an attachment, link or additional information. Please be sure your contact information is updated in Skyward to stay connected.
This call is to inform you about our Open House and Back to School night, next Monday, August 28th. The doors will open at 3:45 for you to pick up your child's schedule with
- 8th grade in the gym
- 7th grade in the cafeteria
- 6th grade outside in the new west wing courtyard off C Street.
Locker numbers and combos will be on the schedule and we encourage students to test their lockers at this time. Then, @ 4:07, we will ring a bell and ask all families to go to their child's 1st period class, where we will have about 7 minutes in each period, allowing you to meet each of your child's teachers in their rooms. The back to school night will end at 5:20 when you can test your locker one more time or make a quick teacher connection you were not able to.
We strongly encourage you to pay fees online in Skyward Family Access or in the office with cash or check. ASB cards are $25 for 7th and 8th and $15 for 6th grade (encouraged for all and required for sports), Yearbooks $30 and PE uniforms for 7th and 8th graders are $15 if they need a new one.
Parking will be tight for this event. I encourage 7th and 8th grade families to park in the southern gym lot, on Colville or across the street at Grace Church and 6th grade families to park in the new bus loop on both sides or on C Street, giving you direct access to the courtyard.
We are very excited to kick off the new school year with some good communication and personal connections!
I truly hope you will be able to make it here Monday night
Have a great evening and Go Spikes!
